Flower Petal Blooming

Exhibited at DeYoung Museum as part of Discarded2Divine juried exhibition in 2014.

SILHOUETTE INSPIRATION: 1960s fashions; simple, clean, boxy; JackieO

CONCEPTUAL INSPIRATION: The geometric shapes and simple lines of Flin Flon IV 1969 (pictured on the right) inspired this garment. The contrast of color inspired use of the purple lining and green fashion fabric. The painting is reminiscent of an abstract flower. The flower-print lining was purposefully used on the interior of a green shell in order to mimic a flower petal blooming.
